Update: following its success, Louise Black has been acquired and merged into a larger brand. Louise Black is an independent fashion label leading the way in contemporary yet wearable range of evening wear. Their new web channel needed to reflect the quality and design led approach which is evident throughout their products.

Given the voguish and conceptual nature of the product offering, Louise Black required a bold, brutalist inspired site which delivered visually and secured sales.
With contemporary design at its heart, our plan was to strike the fine balance between striking visual design to promote the brand, yet build a strong functional e-commerce web experience.

A clear approach to high end fashion through creative web design
The project’s final result was nothing short of striking. The abstract, brutalist inspired design utilises strong type alongside a monochromatic palette as a nod to the structural nature of the products.
Underneath the strong visual web design is a robust e-commerce platform powered by WooCommerce which utilises large format product as well video.

Often it can be difficult to gauge an idea of a product, particularly in fashion, from a small selection of photos. As a solution, we integrated an easy, seamless video showcase.
AJAX smart search
An AJAX search was built into the site to allow the user to find what they are looking for, whether that be products or content pages.
Integrated social feeds
Social promotion is always key with a fashion brand due to its market penetration. We built a low API call social feed system so as not to affect site load should the social servers timeout.
